Having a foundation of conversational French is beneficial to students going on any of our language courses but even less advanced students will see their fluency flourish in a short space of time during this immersive experience.

You’ll need to arrange your own flights. But we are happy to help advise you on the most direct route.
Students can request to share a room with a friend or can be placed with another student if they have travelled alone. The school look after the placement of students into their accommodation.
While all meals are provided, you’ll need money for socialising and shopping during your time away.
From the first moment it was excellent. Stein Study staff meeting us at the airport made things so easy and Tom made sure we had everything we needed when we settled in the host’s house and we knew we could go to him with any concerns we had. The class were great and really focused on speaking French and giving you more confidence. The leaving cert classes helped a lot with preparation and gave us a chance to practice. Outside the classroom the activities were great. We done volleyball on the beach and also visited local towns, it was all amazing and I wouldn’t change a thing! We were given responsibility, trust and respect from everyone. I enjoyed myself thoroughly!
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience in La Rochelle. When I came I had very bad French and my French has improved. The classes were good and all the teachers that I had were really nice I think the classes were really beneficial. My host family were so nice. They made such an effect to make us feel comfortable. I found most of the activity’s fun. The group leader defiantly made them better. They put such an effort to make the activities as fun for us as possible.
I have Found my language Experience very good and I think I have learnt a lot. Our Host was very nice, and I have learnt a lot from listening to their conversations at dinner, going to classes has also been very good and our teachers very good and I felt that I have learnt a lot. I have also really enjoyed doing all the activities an getting to walk around La Rochelle. The teachers are nice, and they ensured that everyone enjoyed the activities. I think La Rochelle is a great place to come as the weather is nice and there is a great night life which had been fun to experience. I feel that I have learnt a lot from the classes and just listening to French people talking when we are out and about
This was my second time travelling to France. I met a lovely group of friends and my host was nice. The school is great, my class group was slightly older than me but I was the only irish person in the class meaning I had to work that little bit harder.
When I first arrived I had a decent understanding of French oral expression but my host family and the teachers in the school made a great effort to improve my French through various activities and different topics of conversation. We did a lot of afternoon and evening activities which always kept me occupied. At dinner in my house I was always asked about my day in French which I think was hugely effective towards improving my French.
I have learnt a lot here. I had good craic. I think it helped that the teachers had limited English as it improved my French a lot. I enjoyed the activities after school and the trips in a Saturday, but I think it would be better to have one or two Saturdays off, so we can do what we wanted. My host was very nice, and she spoke little English which also improved my French. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here.
