If you love playing rugby and are looking to study abroad to improve your French language skills during TY, then this is the course for you! This one of a kind course, offered by the inLingua French language school in La Rochelle, combines morning French classes with rugby workshops and training sessions in the afternoons. There is even the opportunity to attend a pre-match training session with a top 14 French Rugby Team!
You will attend 15 French language classes throughout the week at the language school and then in the afternoons, you will either attend a rugby training session (2 per week) or a Rugby in France Workshop (2 per week).
The training sessions are hosted by a local La Rochelle rugby team. You will join in with their weekly 2.5 hour training sessions and benefit from learning from their experienced and enthusiastic coach.
The workshops take place at the language school and will focus on the topic of ‘Rugby in France’. They offer a great way for students to use their language skills to talk about a topic they enjoy and are passionate about. Themes for discussion include; ‘The rise of rugby in France’ and ‘Match observation and analysis’.
And perhaps the most exciting part of the course is that you will get to attend a pre-match open training session for one of the top teams in the country – La Rochelle Atlantique Stade Rochelais. The team includes some of the best players in the country. At the training session, you will observe and make notes on training techniques and prepare a warm-up/training session for fellow students. Another great way to practice your French and learn new vocab.
We have scheduled this course around the match fixtures for the La Rochelle Atlantique Stade Rochelais rugby team so that students can not only attend the pre-match training session but can also purchase tickets to the actual match. Tickets are available for the following matches:

I'm delighted to give a review of Anne-Marie’s 6 week stay in Cádiz. She would tell you that it was the highlight of her TY year and a tremendous opportunity for her to mature and experience increased levels of independence. She learnt a considerable amount in Clic for the three weeks she was there and enjoyed the cultural experience of the three weeks she had in college. She found the children exceptionally warm, welcoming and interested in her. Anne-Marie’s host mum Maria was really wonderful. She spent a lot of time with Anne-Marie allowing her time to practice the Spanish she was learning and she and her husband were very kind. I couldn’t speak highly enough of them. Cádiz is a wonderful town for teenagers to visit, to learn a language in a safe and interesting environment. Anne-Marie always felt comfortable walking around town and she became adept at taking buses.
I thought the whole experience was first class. From the school to the activities to free time, I really enjoyed everything the school had to offer. I thought Tom was very kind and well prepared for everything. I really enjoyed it all and can’t say a bad thing about any of it. My host family also could not have been kinder and more welcoming towards me, the activities we did as well were very good. I particularly enjoyed the sailing. I would recommend this trip and will make sure my younger brother comes here.
I had the lost amazing stay in Cádiz and could not be happier with everything that I experienced while I was there! I definitely feel like my language skills have improved drastically, the organised excursions were great, all of the teachers were very helpful and up for a laugh which immediately made you eager to learn Spanish to be able to chat with them!
From the first moment it was excellent. Stein Study staff meeting us at the airport made things so easy and Tom made sure we had everything we needed when we settled in the host’s house and we knew we could go to him with any concerns we had. The class were great and really focused on speaking French and giving you more confidence. The leaving cert classes helped a lot with preparation and gave us a chance to practice. Outside the classroom the activities were great. We done volleyball on the beach and also visited local towns, it was all amazing and I wouldn’t change a thing! We were given responsibility, trust and respect from everyone. I enjoyed myself thoroughly!
The Staff in the school are really nice and friendly. The activities they planned for us were all fun. Classes were fine. Our host family was so nice and welcoming.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time here. The classes were very good, and I felt like my French improved because of them. All if the teachers were nice and made a real effort. Our host family couldn’t have been nicer! They really made us feel as comfortable as they could. The food was mostly good. The group leaders were so kind. All three of them made such an effort and it didn’t go unnoticed. They really tried to make the actives as fun as they could for us. The tour around the town was good and allowed us to get our bearings which was very useful. The restaurants ect were lovely and we enjoyed going in the evenings.
